Richmond Resilient Roots is a nurse practitioner–owned private practice based in Richmond, Virginia. I provide compassionate, holistic psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and young adults, with a focus on thoughtful, evidence-based evaluation and medication management.
I believe mental health is just as important as physical health. My approach is personalized and comprehensive, supporting the whole child while partnering closely with families to understand each child’s unique emotional, developmental, and medical needs.
My primary clinical focus is psychiatric evaluation and medication management. I take a careful, individualized approach to prescribing, considering not only symptoms, but the child’s overall health, environment, and stage of development. While I incorporate supportive therapeutic conversations into visits, I believe the most effective care often happens through collaboration.
I regularly work alongside therapists, counselors, schools, and other professionals to ensure care is coordinated, consistent, and aligned with each child’s goals. When therapy is recommended, I value partnering with existing therapists or helping families connect with appropriate therapeutic support.
At Richmond Resilient Roots, my goal is to empower children and families with the tools they need to build resilience, confidence, and emotional well-being for life. Just as strong roots provide stability and growth for a tree, the resilience nurtured here forms the foundation for lifelong mental health and strength.

I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in pediatric healthcare. Throughout my career, I have developed a deep commitment to supporting the mental, emotional, and physical well-being of children and adolescents.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, family, and dogs, who provide grounding and joy in everyday life. I value staying active through walking, running, and yoga, and I find creativity and balance through painting, particularly animals. These personal passions inform my holistic, thoughtful approach to caring for children and families.

At Richmond Resilient Roots, PLLC, I do not accept insurance. Services are self-pay, and payment is due at the time of your visit.
By operating outside of insurance networks, I am able to provide highly personalized, thoughtful care without the constraints of insurance requirements. This approach allows for greater flexibility in treatment planning and enables close collaboration with families, therapists, schools, and other professionals—particularly when supporting children and adolescents.
For families who wish to use insurance, I am happy to provide a superbill, which is a detailed receipt you may submit to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
To make billing as simple as possible, I offer the option to keep a card on file and can provide visit or monthly superbills upon request. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

All new patients begin with a comprehensive evaluation. This extended visit allows time to understand developmental history, school functioning, emotional health, family dynamics, and previous treatment experiences before creating a personalized care plan.
Follow-up visits include ongoing medication management, symptom monitoring, treatment adjustments, and supportive therapeutic guidance as needed.

Just as roots are vital for the growth and stability of a tree, the resilience we nurture in our clients forms the foundation for their strength and confidence.
